Egyptian FM in Damascus: Israel threatens stability
Syria-Egypt, Politics, 9/10/2004

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Ghait said that he conveyed a message to President Bashar al-Assad from President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on the situations in the region, particularly in Iraq and Palestine and the Syrian-Egyptian viewpoints on those situations as well as the efforts exerted to achieve the unity of the Palestinian national action, pointing out to Syria's understanding of the Egyptian efforts in this regard.

In a statement to the press Thursday, Abu al-Gheit underlined that he discussed with Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara the current situations in the region, the forthcoming meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers and the meetings of the UN General Assembly on September 20. He also reiterated his country's rejection of Israeli threats against Syria, asserting that Israel threatens stability and security in the region.
