Mubarak sends message to Assad
Egypt-Syria, Politics, 9/9/2004

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit will pay a visit to Syria today carrying a message from President Hosni Mubarak to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

Diplomatic sources said that Abul-Gheit would have talks with his Syrian counterpart Farouq AL-Shara on the latest developments in the region.

The talks will centre on Egypt's efforts for reviving the Middle East peace process.

The President Assad received Wednesday a telephone contact from Mubarak, the Syrian news agency reported.

The two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and constant coordination between the two countries.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Maged Abdel Fattah had said no date was set for Assad's visit to Egypt.
