Al-Assad confers with French official

President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received Chairman of the French-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Association Association Sen. Philippe Marini at the People's Palace.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest regional and international developments, particularly in Iraq and its repercussions of Iraq's neighboring countries, the Middle East peace process and combating terrorism.
Both sides reviewed the Syrian-European and the Syrian-French relations and means of enhancing them through encouraging mutual dialogue and exchanging visits between the two sides on all levels, particularly on the Parliamentary field.
