Relations between Morocco and Libya termed 'excellent' by Moroccan foreign minister

The relations between Morocco and Libya are "excellent" and marked by high levels of cooperation, partnership and comprehension, said Moroccan foreign minister, Mohamed Benaissa.

At a meeting, in Rabat Tuesday with Libyan assistant secretary in charge of the UMA, Meftah Othmane Madi, Benaissa said talks dealt with means to energize the UMA, French acronym of the Arab Maghreban Union, adding Maghreban foreign ministers will meet on the fringes of the Arab League council upcoming meeting in Cairo to discuss the items on its agenda.

In Addition to Morocco and Libya, the North African regional grouping UMA musters Algeria, Tunisia and Mauritania.

Benaissa said the Rabat meeting is part of the Moroccan-Libyan consultations on the upcoming session of Arab foreign ministers to be held as of September 14th in Cairo.
