Chinese envoy says China backs Arab causes

Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East Peace Process, Wang Chi Ji, on Monday said the Lebanese Presidential election is a matter up to the Lebanese people, stressing China's rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab states.
"Syria and Lebanon are sovereign countries, and their relations are based on coordination and cooperation," the Chinese envoy said in a statement following a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa.
He reiterated that China backs the just Arab causes and rights, adding that the Chinese Foreign Minister's visit to the Arab League next week will yield positive results.
