Arab and Latin American pundits to discuss Arab Cultural Issues in Sao Polo

A seminar to gather Latin American and the Arab states pundits will be held in the Brazilian southern town of Sao Polo to discuss issues on Arab culture and society.

Sponsored by the Brazilian Institute for Research on External Relations and the Alexandre De Gusmao Foundation, the meeting is held in the framework of the first summit of the heads of state of the two regions, due in April 2005 in Sao Polo.

The seminar is also held in the context of the launching of trade negotiations between Mercosur members or associates and some Arab states, including Morocco and Egypt.

Discussions will revolve around aspects of the History, culture, religion and basic laws in the Arab society as well as the image of the Arab world in Latin America and international priorities of the Arab states.
