Al-Qathafi wants the international community to be aware of the Libyan political system
Libya, Politics, 9/4/2004

Libya's Leader Muammar al-Qathafi " called on the Basic People's Congresses in Great Jamahiriya, to invite as from now, international observers, to attend their sessions and popular selection processes for their secretariats and People's Committees," JANA reported yesterday.

The report added "In his address before the Libyan peoples' functionaries and activists, marking the 35th anniversary of great al-fateh revolution, the Leader Muammar al-Gadhafi explained that the presence of those international observers has become required and ordinary."

The report added "In this way the Jamahiri thought could be disseminated, and understood by the world, through direct acquaintance of the Libyan people as they practice their authority. In this way commitment to credibility, and transparency in the selection could be ascertained, he added."
