Outsourcing phone centers expand in Morocco

Morocco, that handles half of outsourced calls of French telecommunication companies, ahead of Tunisia and Senegal, has become the new Eldorado of phone services, said the French weekly "Le Journal du Dimanche."

The weekly said the Kingdom, starting from scratch four years ago, has set up 56 outsourcing call centers employing some 6,000 agents, two third of whom work for French companies.

Morocco, according to the newspaper, offers a skilled, French-speaking, young personnel, tax exemption for a five year period as well as installation assistance and administrative facilities.

Mohamed El Wahdoudi, Manager of the first Moroccan call centers exhibit, due in Casablanca as of September 30th, told the weekly Morocco will build a dozen of new centers by the end of the year that will create some 10,000 new jobs in three years.
