The two French Journalists kidnapped in Iraq call for abrogating veil law
Iraq-France, Politics, 8/31/2004
The two French journalists kidnapped in Iraq have called on the French President Jacques Chirac to abrogate the law on banning the veil in the French schools. They also called in a video tape broadcast by al-Jazeera TV on the French people to demonstrate for that, stressing that their lives are endangered.
Al-Jazeera said that the kidnappers of the French journalists extended for 24 hours the warning addressed to the French government in order to abrogate the veil wearing law in the French public schools.
