An attack reduces Iraq's exports
Iraq, Economics, 8/27/2004
A naval agent said that oil exports from southern Iraq fell almost by half yesterday following the attack that took place on Wednesday evening at a complex for oil pipelines, noting that the reduction might be attributed to the movements of the oil tankers.
The agent said that two tankers are loaded in the naval port of Basra, noting that it is not known if another tanker is preparing to anchor at a naval station in Khour al-Amya port, will also load oil or not.
One oil official announced yesterday that an attack was held against 8 oil pipelines linking al-Rumeilah big oil field to the south of Iraq to the "al-Zubeir 1" pumping station near al-Basra city.
