Rashid calls for boosting Egyptian-Sudanese industries like sugar, cooking oil
Egypt-Sudan, Economics, 8/25/2004

Egypt's Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Rashid Mohamed Rashid said that he is eager to bolster Egyptian-,Sudanese industrial cooperation and encourage investors to establish mutual industrial projects.

In his meeting yesterday with Sudanese Minister of Industry and Investment Galal Youssef, Rashid added that the Egyptian government wants to remove the obstacles to mutual cooperation, in accordance with President Hosni Mubarak's directives to establish an Arab common market.

The Minister revealed that Egyptian-Sudanese industrial cooperation should concentrate on strategic products like sugar and cooking oil.

"There are vast agricultural lands in the Sudan that should be properly cultivated to bridge the gap between supply and demand in Egypt," he explained.
