US authorities arrest one Hamas official

American judicial sources announced that the authorities arrested on Friday a persons it had described as a senior official in the Hamas movement who was photographing Chesapeake bridge in Maryland.

The sources said that Ismael Salim al-Barras was detained as a basic witness in a terrorism issue in Chicago. The office of the Attorney General in Maryland said that al-Barras is suspected to have financial relations with Palestinian groups. Documents in Baltimore court, where al-Barras was shown before a judge said that he ( al-Narras) have a joint bank account with the deputy chairman of the political bureau of the Hamas movement Mousa Abu Marzouk, noting that the account was used for laundering of hundreds of thousands of dollars and sending them to the Hamas movement.

Meantime Abu Marzouk ridiculed the accusations addressed by the US in its being " old accusations " Washington came up with to enhance its position in the elections.
