Three American soldiers, one Polish killed in attacks near Baghdad

In a statement, the American army said that three American soldiers were killed and other five injured in two separate attacks near Baghdad during the past 24 hours.

One soldier was killed and two other injured when their patrol was exposed to an attack by shelling to the south of Baghdad. The statement explained that the soldier died when the shelling destroyed his vehicle. Two soldiers were killed and three wounded on Friday in an ambush installed against their patrol to the south of Baghdad.

Today, Saturday, several Iraqis were killed in attacks and different incidents. One officer in the Iraqi police was killed by the bullets of unidentified persons who attacked him while he went out of his house in al-Ramadi city.

Four Iraqis were killed and other four injured in a booby trap explosion when their car was running in the city situated in northern Iraq. The Iraqi police said that attackers were planning to destroy one American patrol, but the bomb went off prematurely.

The sources also said that one Iraqi soldier was killed and other five injured including three civilians near an inspection point for the Iraqi national guards in al-Sukkar quarters in Musil city to the north of Iraq. The explosion inflicted material damages in several civilian cars.
