Israeli forces demolish seven houses in Khan Younis
Palestine-Israel, Military, 8/21/2004
The Israeli occupation forces demolished more than 7 houses during their incursion yesterday at dawn in al-Barabekha area to the west of Khan Younis camp for refugees to the south of Gaza.
The occupation army justified the demolishing operation by saying that the Palestinian activists use the houses in bombarding the Israeli settlements adjoining the camp.
Some 35 Israelis were injured on Thursday when five Qassam missiles fell on the nearby Seidrout settlement near Beit Hanoun to the north of Gaza.
News reports said that the occupation forces divided the sector to three areas, by closing the main roads, especially the coastal road which leads to Gaza and the two barriers of Houly and al-Matahin ( the Hills) situated to the north of Khan Younis city.
Palestinian sources said the occupation army notified the Palestinian side that it will not end its measures except after halting the Israeli settlement bombardment by the Palestinian resistance. Witnesses said that hundreds of Palestinians were prevented from returning back to their homes via military barriers separating the cities of Gaza sector.
