The defendant committee for Saddam Hussein before the Iraqi courts

The defendant committee in defense of Saddam Hussein said on Saturday that the Iraqi bar association agreed to its request to that they defend in the Iraqi courts the toppled Iraqi President, stressing persistence that a medical team from its side to visit him.
A statement by the defendant committee said it has got the consent of the Iraqi bar association to defend before the Iraqi courts. Simultaneously, Iraqi committees were formed to collaborate with the defendant commission. The commission added that it had held "several meetings with Iraqi lawyers who stressed the need of considering them part of the defendant commission," noting that so far 90 Iraqi lawyers volunteered to defend Saddam Hussein. The statement also stressed demands to dispatch a medical team to test the toppled Iraqi President.
In the same context, the commission announced that contacts are being underway with the African leader Nelson Mandela and the former American official Ramzi Clarck to join it.
