Document for Egyptian opposition parties calling for reforms

The chairman of the opposition Naserite Arab party in Egypt, Dia Eddin Dawoud, said that three of the main Egyptian opposition parties signed a new document for political reforms that will be announced to the public opinion within days.

Dawoud said that the document's items were approved among the parties of the Liberal, al-Arabi al-Naseri and the Leftist coalition, and formulated at the consent of the leaderships of the three parties.

He explained that the document calls for a comprehensive political reform that starts by amending the constitution so as to define the Presidium term of office for the President and make a distinction between the specializations of the President and the Cabinet and permitting presidential elections for more than one candidates.

The document also calls for the abrogation of the parties law, the emergency law and enact a new law for emergency so as the emergency period not to exceed 6 months and to be only implemented for certain reasons and after making a social referendum.

Dawoud spoke of announcing the details of the document officially in a press conference to be held next week, noting that during this conference, other political forces and parties including the ruling national party will be invited to support the document and makes the executive authority abides by it.
