African Peace Council delays sending troops to Darfur

The African Peace and Security Council put off a decision to dispatch troops to Darfur. The council is expected to adopt the decision during the coming session on the end of consultations run by the AU with the parties concerned.
It welcomed efforts by the Arab League, the Security Council and the African Union to achieve peace in Darfur.
