Morocco's decision to lift entry visa for Algerian nationals is a "positive step" that would facilitate contact between peoples in the region, underlined, in Tetuan Thursday, Libyan Foreign minister, Abderrahman Chalghom.
The Libyan official told the press after an audience with king Mohammed VI, bilateral relations were probed in the audience, underlining that "particular and excellent relations" bind colonel Mouammar Kadhafi and king Mohammed VI.
Libya, that chairs the current session of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA- mustering Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Mauritania and Tunisia), is making "intensive" contacts with member countries to give a new impetus to this regional grouping, to energize its bodies and to prepare the ground for the next Maghreban summit, to be held before the end of this year, underlined the Libyan foreign minister.
King Mohammed VI had underscored in the audience with the Libyan minister that the development of UMA countries and the establishment of stability in the region require intensified efforts and a sound environment to take up the development challenges and play a significant role at the regional and continental levels, said the sovereign.
The Moroccan monarch also voiced satisfaction for the joint readiness expressed by Libya and Mauritania to open a fresh page in their bilateral relations.
