Riyadh denies any suspect in the relaions with Bush family
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 8/5/2004

The Saudi Arabian ambassador in London, Prince Turkey al-Faisal, yesterday replied to some excerpts included in the documentary film " Fahrenheit 9/11" by film maker Michael Moore and what was stated in a book issued recently dealing with the relations between the two families of al-Saud and Bush.

Both the film and the book, which is under the title " al-Bush, al-Saud families" By Kreig Onger indicated that the American administration helped 140 Saudis o " escape" from the USA on September 13, 2001, just two days after September 11 attacks, most of them are relatives of Osama Bin Laden.

Al-Faisal said in a statement to the BBC that there is nothing unnatural in the departure of those Saudis, noting that those Saudis were checked by the " FBI" and no one of them had left without being investigated him and granted permission."

In that film, Moore considered that the Bush administration helped several Saudis princes and members in Bin Laden family to flee from the USA at a time when the American airspace was blocked before all trade flights. However, the independent investigation committee in the attacks announced it found no evidence that any flight transported any Saudi before the opening of the airspace on September 13.

In his book, Onger indicate that a sum of USD 1.4 billion of investments and contracts from al-Saud family went to companies where members of the Bush family occupied senior positions.

Al-Faisal said " we might have invested in the same companies, but this does not mean we are in close cooperation in that with the Bush family."
