Iraq-Kuwait, Politics, 8/2/2004
The Kuwaiti official news agency Kuwana said that the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah received yesterday the Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi, currently visiting Kuwait for three days, in a visit which is the first of its kind since he assumed his task as a prime minister in Iraq on June 28th.
The agency said that the Kuwaiti prime minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah attended the meeting together with several Kuwaiti ministers.
Allawi's visit leading a large Iraqi delegation coincided with the 14th anniversary of the occupation of the Iraqi forces of Kuwait under the rule of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
On saturday, Allawi made talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad that dealt with " the good relations between the two countries " and means of developing them as well as " latest developments debated on the Arab and international arenas."
