On hostages in Iraq

One Iraqi mediator chosen by the kidnappers of seven detainees called today ( Friday) ( the Islamic secret army)- the black banners group to abstain from killing the hostages.

Sheikh Hisham al-Deilami called on his behalf and on behalf of the spiritual leaders and in the name of humanity to abstain from killing the hostages noting that there are contacts with official Egyptians, and Indians and stressing the existence of a good opportunity for reaching positive results that might lead to releasing the hostages.

The kidnappers of the seven hostages threatened to execute one Indian hostage if their demands will not be met at 15.00 hour ( GMT). The 7 hostages are three Indians, three Kenyans and one Egyptians.

The " al-Tawhid and al-Jihad group threatened to kill the Somali hostage Ali Ahmad Mousa unless his Kuwaiti employer withdraws his company from Iraq within 48 hours.

One Iraqi group calling itself " the death group" stressed they are holding four Jordanians and called on the Jordanian people to pressure their government, in support of the multinational forces.

On the other hand, the minister of defense in Ukraine said that his country started talks with the US and Poland over the withdrawal of Ukraine forces from Iraq over the killing of 6 Ukraine soldiers earlier this year from Iraq.

Ukraine which supported Washington in the war against Iraq sent 1650 soldiers in August, 2003 to Iraq.
