Allawi: Iraq is always keen for best relations with Syria

Iraqi Prime Minister Eyad Allawi said "Iraq and Syria are sisterly countries and what harms Iraq, harms Syria too," adding "We have always been keen on best relations and cooperation with Syria."
In an interview to Saudi Okaz newspaper published on Tuesday, Allawi said that Syrian-Iraqi relations are historical.
He stressed the importance of his visit to Syria as it achieved big political accomplishment in the interest of both countries.
Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi Tuesday expressed relief over the outcomes of his latest visit to Syria and his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad, adding Syria showed keenness on Iraq's interest and territorial integrity.
In an interview with Lebanese Future T.V. Channel, Allawi said the relations between Syria and Iraq are based on integration and frankness, expressing content over the political results of his first ever tour which led to consensus on supporting Iraq.
He pointed out that the full legitimacy of the Iraqi government will be acquired after the elections scheduled to be held in at the beginning of the next year.
