Information Minister meet with distinguished Syrian Opera Singer

Minister of information Ahmad al-Hassan on Monday received the Syrian opera signer Miss Talard Karminjian who was chosen as one of ten best opera singers in the world in an international competition organized in the Belgian capital of Brussels.

The Minister congratulated Ms. Karminjian for this great success, stressing that artists like her constitute a great national fortune that have to be supported with all available assistance to encourage them for more innovation and creativity.

He pointed out that Ms. Karminjian and other prominent artists are sources of pride and ambassadors of Syria abroad through their art which reflects the true civilization and originality of the Syrian people.

For her part, Ms. Karminjian thanked the Minister for his care and interest for the Syrian artists, stressing that her prize will give her additional momentum for more innovation in the field of world opera.

More than 200 singers from all over the world recently took part in the Brussels competition. Ms. Karminjian was rewarded a one-and-half-year scholarship to continue academic study in Brussels. She was also given the chance to sing along with world opera singers.
