Oman buys 20 French military helicopter

The Sultanate of Oman signed a contract provides for buying 20 military helicopters with the French NHA company of "F H 90" jointly manufactured by several European countries in order to improve the defense potentials of the Omani air force.
The Omani official news agency said that the minister of state for defense affairs, Sayed Bader Bin Hareb al-Bousaeidi, and one official in the French company signed a deal on Saturday but gave no mention to its value.
The agency explained that this deal constitutes another step on the process of modernization within the context of the set plans to upgrade defense potentials of the armed forces and qualify the Omani cadres so as to cope with requirements of modernization and development in weapons and equipments." The agency quoted the commander of the Omani armed forces lt. gen. Yahya Bin Rasheed al-Jum'a as saying that F H 90 plane will enhance the potentials of the air forces in fighting missions.
