Over 198 mosques hosted literacy courses in cities in 2003-2004

The number of mosques that hosted literacy courses for first and second levels in urban areas in 2003-2004 reached 198.
According to the ministry of Habous (Endowment) and Islamic affairs, the number of first and second level beneficiaries from the 2003-2004 literacy program raised to 17,459, including 78% women.
The same source said that, among the 13,796 candidates who took first and second level exams in urban areas, 12,326 have succeeded.
These courses included reading, writing, calculation, and Koran apprenticeship.
