Egyptian embassy has no links to the kidnappers of the diplomat

The Egyptian embassy in Baghdad said today that its has no contacts with the kidnappers of the third ranking man in the embassy Muhammad Mamdoh Helmi Qutob. The Egyptian Consul in Baghdad Bader Eddine al-Dasouqi said they are following the situation now but refused to give more details.

Egypt said in its reply to the kidnapping incident that it does not intend to send forces or military men to Iraq. the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit said in a statement issued Friday evening that sending forces is not among the debated matters. He said that the kidnapped diplomat is working in the service of building fraternal relations between the Iraqi and Egyptian peoples.
