Mubarak vows for a vaster people's participation in politics

The Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak vowed a vaster people's participation in politics and taking more steps towards the market economy.
Mubarak said in a speech on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of July 23rd revolution that his country started since days a new phase of national work that aims at attaining this objective in remarks to the government appointing of the new prime minister Ahmad Nazif.
Mubarak said that this phase includes completion of the transformation towards the market economy and achieving the maximum from the economic reform and achieving social justice and ensuring a just share of development fruits for all social strata of limited income.
In his speech Mubarak indicated the importance of making more national efforts to convert the society into a modern society that copes with the latest scientific advancement and technology, and achieving more openness to the outer world especially with the developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Mubarak said that Egypt will work for reaching a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East on the ground of international law, equality and common interests, but did not tackle directly in his speech Iraq or the internal conflict taking place in the Palestinian territories.
The Egyptian President commended the July revolution and described it as the most important revolution in the 20th centuries and the most effective in its regional surrounding. He added that the revolution, despite the fierce fighting it faced, it developed its performance and achieved a prominent military victory in 1973 that restored back to the Arab nation its dignity and extended the bridges of comprehensive peace aiming at restoring back all usurped rights to the Arab states.
