Some 20 persons killed in a dynamite factory explosion in Yemen

The number of persons killed in the explosion which took place in Hababa area to the north of Sanaa increased to 20 killing after bodies of missing were found under the ruins. Local security sources said that the explosion resulted in electricity mass in one of the local dynamite factory.

News reports said that eye witnesses say civil defense men took out the bodies from the ruins of the building where the explosion took place composed of three floors.

According to the witnesses the owner of the building recently converted the first floor to a store for dynamite which is often used in constructing mountainous roads.

This explosion recalls the explosion which took place in al-Baydaa city in May 2001 when 30 persons were killed and other 50 injured. The reason behind the explosion was a large amounts of dynamite in one of the trade centers.
