Tuberculosis-treatments in Morocco 90% successful, Minister
Morocco, Health, 7/21/2004
Morocco's tuberculosis treatment achieves an average success rate of 90%, which has curbed the disease's prevalence regularly since 1995, said health minister, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah.
All tuberculous patients in Morocco (about 28.000) have been receiving free treatment since 1999, said Monday Health Minister at a meeting here with an MP, on regional health problems.
People suffering from tuberculosis receive the same therapeutics recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), the minister added.
Biadillah went on that related services are extended free from charges in all healthcare centers, recalling the reform of Morocco's national anti-tuberculosis program.
