Libya-USA, Politics, 7/19/2004
Libya announced it will try the US secretary of state Colin Powell over " insulting the Libyan people and defaming all Libyans, males and females," in statements he had made at the American Institute for peace on Thursday evening in which he had described the Libyan regime as " non democratic and Totalitarian."
The Libyan official news agency quoted the Libyan (foreign minister) Abdul Rahman Shalqam as saying that " statements of secretary Colin Powell are not acceptable and are insulting for the Libyan people.. and therefore all specialized sides will file a judicial case against him because what he had said implied defaming of all Libyans."
