UN report highlights Arab women achievements

United Nations Development Fund For Women Sunday said there are positive steps towards activating the role of Arab women in the political affair through increasing their representation at the Arab parliaments and their role in the political reform.

The Fund, in a report issued in Amman, pointed out that a report entitled " The Arab Women Progress in 2004É" in which it registered the women situation in the Arab states during the last ten years, reflects the experiment of the Arab women in the framework of the social, political and economic security.

The report added that the average of female employees in 1996 in the Middle East and North Africa didn't exceed more than 26% of the real employment, but this average is internationally estimated 40% of the employment.
