One third of Tunisia's youth follows up higher education

The Tunisian president Zine al-Abdidin Ben Ali announced preparation of a strategic study on the main trends for the development of the country's need to intermediate and higher qualifications during the current and next decades.
In a speech he delivered yesterday on the occasion of Tunisia's celebration of "education" day, Ben Ali said that one third of the Tunisian youths aging between 19 and 24 are higher education establishments members, noting that Tunisia pins hopes on the graduated generations from these establishments in order to build the new economy, develop self potentials for Tunisia. he indicated that female rate in the Tunisian university establishments reached 56% and will reach 60% in 2006.
He stressed that Tunisia is preparing for partnership with the US during the current year similar to same partnership contracts it had with the European Union. He commended this progress due to the reforms introduced in the economy boosting field, modernizing study levels and research and verifying specializations.
