American Congressmen calls for reduction of aids to Egypt, punishing Saudi Arabia
Egypt-USA, Politics, 7/16/2004

Several American Congressmen yesterday circulated a message on their colleagues demanding other members to approve to transfer 25% of the value of the annual American military aids to Egypt, estimated at 325 million dollars, to economic aid, because, for them, it is better for Egypt to spend these sums for serving its people rather on armament, especially as it is not threatened by its neighbors and that the annual income per capita does not increase one thousand USD.

Meantime, Congressman Antony Winner, Steve Israel, and Joseph Crawly circulated a message in which they asked their participation in demanding the American government to punish Saudi Arabia and depriving it from any American aids, because they consider it ( Saudi Arabia) as not collaborating in fighting terrorism.

The message also accused Saudi Arabia of continuing financing terrorists and that instead of punishing them decided to pardon any terrorist who surrenders to the Saudi authorities.
