Blair accepts Battler's report, denies lying for the Britons
Iraq-UK, Politics, 7/15/2004

The British prime minister Tony Blair said he totally accepts the comments of lord Robin Battler in the report of the chairman of the investigation committee to justifications of invading Iraq, in which he indicated large points of violations in the work of the British intelligence agencies before the war against Iraq in 2003.

In a speech before the British house of commons, Blair denied that any members of his government had lied for the British people or introduced falsified articles on the report of 2002 concerning the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, in what contradicts the opinion of the British intelligence department. Blair said that the possibility of having mass destruction weapons in Iraq is not there.

Blair said that the evidences over Saddam Hussein's having mass destruction weapons were not authentic or built on solid ground as stated before launching the war. But he stressed that getting rid off Saddam Hussein was not a mistake, any way.
