Arab Parliamentary Union welcomes the ICJ decision on separation wall

Arab Parliamentary Union has stressed that the ruling of the International Court of Justice on the Israeli racial separation wall is an international victory to the Palestinian people just causes.

In a statement issued Sunday, the union said the verdict constituted a flagrant condemnation to Israel's inhuman practices against the Palestinian people and violation of the international legality principles.

The union urged the Arab states, Arab League and all institutions of the joint Arab action to coordinate among them and organize a wide campaign on popular and international levels to support the court decision.

The union called upon all parliamentarians and parliamentary organizations to support the court decision and to urge their governments to compel Israel to abide by the decision and stop the wall building and recompense the Palestinian citizens.

Meanwhile, Cairo based Arab League announced that it seeks the convening of a meeting of UN General Assembly as soon as possible to discuss the ICJ' s advisory opinion.

Director of AL Secretary General, Hesham Yousuf said in a statement that the aim of the Arab action is to stop the wall building and remove the built parts.
