Occupation forces assassinate an activist in Jenin and Arab move against the wall
Palestine-Israel, Military, 7/14/2004
News reports in Jenin said that Israeli special units assassinated Nu'man Taheynah, one of the main leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine. Israel accuses Taheynah -- who has been chased by the Israeli forces since the first Intifada -- that he is the master mind for several operations carried out by al-Quds groups.
More than 20 Israeli military vehicles incurred from the western entrance of the city and the outskirts of its camps, where armed clashes took place between these forces and fighters from al-Aqsa martyrs groups and al-Quds groups.
In Balatah camp, to the east of Jerusalem, news reports said the occupation army seized 12 houses and converted them to military check points. The Israeli forces had invaded the camp in the early hours yesterday to deploy in its entrances and over high buildings.
The occupation forces carried out breaking in and inspection for several houses. The occupation forces demolished one house in al-Dheisha camp to the south of Bethlehem. A Palestinian source said that the house is owned by an activist from the Fatah movement accused by the occupation forces over being responsible for armed attacks against it.
News reports in Gaza said that one Israeli force occupied four houses in al-Qarrara town to the south of Gaza and the Israeli armored vehicles incurred in the area and started land leveling operations.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the occupation army said that one Qassam missile fell yesterday morning at Ghoushe Katif settlement to the south of Gaza. No casualties were reported.
