Blair: Mass destruction weapons might not be found in Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 7/7/2004
The British prime minister Tony Blair admitted yesterday for the first time that "mass destruction weapons might not be found in Iraq."
Blair said in an intervention before the liaison committee at the House of Commons which includes main members of the council "I have to accept that we have not found these weapons and may not find it." Blair added " I was sure we will find it. I was sure that the inspection group in Iraq will find the weapons because all information and evidences we had indicated the existence of the mass destruction weapons." He continued " we do not know what had happened with the ( mass destruction weapons). "They might be transported, hidden and destroyed? "
In Washington, the spokesman for the White House said that the Iraqi's survey group which is roving Iraq in search of the mass destruction weapons discussed the possibility that these weapons were transported abroad.
