Sharon plays down the Amnesty International decision over the wall; Six Palestinians killed, missiles fell on Israel
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/5/2004

The Israeli occupation forces admitted continued falling of missiles at several areas in Israel adjoining Gaza. Israeli sources said that one missile fell near the house of the chairman of Sdeirout settlement and another in an open area near Erez crossing. Two other missiles fell at Shaer Henegieve town.

Ezz Eddine al-Qassam group, the military wing of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas claimed responsibility for launching two missiles at Sdeirout settlements.

In a statement, al-Naser Salah Eddine group claimed responsibility over firing three " Nasser type" missiles at the same settlement and broadcast photos showing the operation of installing the missiles and launching them towards the settlement.

Meantime, one Israeli settler was killed and other two injured, one in a critical condition, in an attack launched by Palestinian resistance at a car for the settlers in Ya'bud down near Jenin. Al-Aqsa group of the Fatah movement said that the executors of the attack were of its members and they withdrew in peace without losses.

Meanwhile, the number of Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and Gaza increased to 6 in less than 24 hours and this was after one Palestinian was killed at the hands of the Israeli border guards in Ein Karem suburb in west Jerusalem.

Earlier in the day, the occupation army announced its forces killed by bullets an armed Palestinian while trying to sneak to a Jewish settlement near Nablus in the West Bank yesterday at dawn.

A spokesman for the Israeli army said that the soldiers opened fire at the gunman at the outskirts of Haar Brasha settlement to the south of Nablus and the occupation forces alleged that the man whose body was found later was carrying a gun and ammunition belt.

Moreover, news reports said that one Palestinian was killed by one Israeli bullets and other three injured in confrontation with the occupation forces in Balatah camp to the east of Nablus. This was after throwing an explosive at an Israeli patrol which was running near the camp. On Saturday, two children from Beit Hanoun to the north of Gaza were killed by the Israeli occupation army fire.

Concerning the separation wall, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon announced yesterday that he sees no use of the interference of the Amnesty International over the legitimacy of the wall of separation built by Israel in the West Bank. This was after the decision issued by the supreme court in Israel to this effect.

Sharon considered that the decision of the supreme court in Israel over the wall of separation constitutes an important legal answer to what he had described the lies fabricated on Israel in the International court of Justice which will discuss the legitimacy of the wall next Friday.

On Wednesday, the Israeli court issued a decision provided for amending the path of the wall at 30 kilometers to the north of Jerusalem in the West Bank in a way to preserve the right of 35,000 Palestinians live in this area.
