Saddam rejects accusations addressed to him, Washington collects evidences

The US Department Of State announced that Washington helps in collecting evidences that the special Iraqi court which sentences the former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and 11 of his senior aides can use.
And the spokesman of the White House said that the American President George W. Bush is pleased over bringing Saddam and his regime's officials before the Iraqi judiciary.
When the spokesman was asked about Saddam's statements and his discription of Bush as " criminal" and that his trial is " a play aims to support Bush's election," he confined to saying that Saddam Hussein will continue to say many things.
He explained that Bush saw the scenes broadcast by TV networks of Saddam's trial before the court, recorded.
The toppled Iraqi President was brought yesterday before a special Iraqi court at Baghdad's airport to listen to the list of accusations addressed to him. His answers to the judge during the session were challenging.
Saddam Hussein refused to sign the list of accusations addressed to him without the presence of lawyers and he insisted to be only called " Saddam Hussein President of the Republic of Iraq." He said that his cling to this title is in honor of the " will of the people of Iraq they had chosen him." Saddam Hussein argued the judge and said to him " How can you accept accusations to be addressed to me at the presence of the invading forces." The former Iraqi President defended his invasion of Kuwait and described the trial as a play. He said " Bush the criminal" aims behind it to increase his shares before the presidential elections.
The judge addressed seven accusations to Saddam:" Deliberate killing by using chemicals in Halbja; delibrate killing of Masoud al-Barazani followers; deliberate killing without trials; deliberate killing of men of religion, deliberate killing in northern Iraq, deliberate killing in the uprising of southern Iraq and the invasion of Kuwait." Then other 11 former Iraqi officials were brought before the court to listen to the list of accusations addressed to them, including Abed Hammoud, Saddam's special secretary. The judge addressed one accusations to him which is taking part in the deliberate killing crime against the Iraqis in 1991 in southern Iraq.
Also brought before the court were the former Iraqi prime minister Tareq Aziz, Ali Hassan al-Majuid - Saddam's cousin and the former Presidential advisor- as well as Taha Yassin Ramadan, Saddam's former deputy, the commander of the Republican guard and the former minister of defense and head of intelligence.
