Iraqi court addressed war crimes to Saddam Hussein; Iraqis, killed, wounded in American bombardment of Falluja

News reports in Falluja said yesterday that American fighters bombarded before yesterday midnight a building in al-Jabil quarters on the southern west quarters of the city and several Iraqis were killed or wounded as a result.

It is believed that there are still bodies and the remains of the building where the rescue teams continue taking out killed and wounded. During the past few days, this quarters was exposed to a series of raids inflicted scores of killed and wounded justified by the American army as targeting shelters for the network of the Jordanian Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who is accused of planning many attacks in Iraq.

News reports said that clashes took place between the American forces and unidentified gunmen on the highway to the east of Falluja. The news said that American fighters dropped bombs at the outskirts of the military quarter and the industrial quarters to the eastern part of the city.

Medical sources said that bodies of five killed persons arrived in Falluja public hospital while people of the area said that more than 10 persons were killed. Final number of killed and wounded who were admitted to the Jordanian hospital is not known yet.

Yesterday witnessed several attacks. A military base near Baghdad's International airport was exposed to mortars attack, resulted in wounding 11 American soldiers, according to a source in the American army.

Meantime, the former Iraqi President and other 11 of his main Aides will be brought today before the special Iraqi criminal court to read the accusations addressed to him. This was, however, after he came under the Iraqi judicial jurisdiction as from Wednesday.

The official spokesman for the Iraqi government George Saada said that Saddam Hussein will be taken from his place of detention to the court hall under tightened protection but will enter the court untightened. He explained that main accusations to be addressed to the former Iraqi President relate to 'mass graves, the missing, the campaign against the Kurds and corruption accusations and personal attacks " The spokesman expected the trial to last for several months.
