Israeli forces continue operations in Beit Hanoun; three Palestinians killed
Palestine-Israel, Military, 6/30/2004

The Israeli occupation forces yesterday continued its incursion in Beit Hanoun to the north of Gaza, backed by military vehicles and helicopters, while number of Palestinians killed in Gaza increased to three, as one member of Hamas was killed in Beit Hanoun. The Israeli soldiers killed a 14 year old Palestinian teenager in Khan Younis. Another teenager was killed because of his wounds he had in May in Rafah.

The occupation forces besieged Beit Hanoun and opened its fire at residential areas in the town and this resulted in injuring 12 Palestinians. Scores of Palestinian boys set fire in car tires at the entrance of Beit Hanoun where several tanks were stationed and threw stones on them, while the Israeli soldiers from their armored vehicles retaliated with live bullets.

People of the area said that the Israeli soldiers broke into several industrial firms in the south east of the town and installed their machine guns on the roofs of buildings, while witnesses talked about a limited clash between Palestinian resistance and the occupation forces in the same area.

Meantime, the Israeli military radio said yesterday that one Israeli was wounded yesterday in Sedrout to the south of Israel when a missile went off, fired from Gaza.

The Israeli incursion was preceded by a raid by the Israeli Apache planes at the downtown of Gaza early yesterday morning by three missiles that targeted the Palestinian press center which is situated in the fourth floor of al-Wahda street and this resulted in wounding two Palestinians.

In the West Bank, the body of an Israeli truck driver killed by bullets yesterday was found in Beit Rima village near Ramullah. Al-Aqsa group which is linked to the Palestine National liberation movement ( Fatah) said that the driver of the Israeli truck was killed in retaliation of the assassination of its leader in Nablus on Saturday.
