Clashes continue in Iraq

With the end of the first day following the turnover of the authority to the Iraqi one bomb went off on one road to the east of Baghdad in one of the American patrols resulted in killing three marines and wounding other two, according to one American military source.

In al-Mahmoudeyah, gunmen attacked by bombs and missiles a police center to the south of Baghdad today morning and this resulted in killing one Iraqi police man and one civilian. Another Iraqi was killed in al-Azameyah area to the north of the city following a fire exchange between the American forces and gunmen.

On the other hand, Thailand is intending to start the pullout of its forces from Iraq on Thursday and there are expectations that it will withdraw all its forces outside the country by the fall of September 20.

In an interview, the Thai minister of defense said that his forces completed its duty concerning its allies in Iraq."

Meantime, the US President George W. Bush announced that the American forces will remain in Iraq, as far as this is necessary. He explained that his country works for enhancing its security through its existence there.
