Syria's statement over the authority turnover to Iraqis

Director of the Foreign Media Department at the Foreign Ministry Mrs. Bushra Kanafani Monday said Syria hopes the transfer of power to the people of Iraq will lead to a complete restoration of sovereignty in a way they could practice their right to self-determination, stabilize its independence and lead a free, decent life.
In a statement to SANA, Kanafani expressed Syria's willingness to offer help and support in a way Iraq can realize the aspired freedom and independence.
