Bahrain releases 6 detainees as they proved no links to al-Qaida
Bahrain, Politics, 6/25/2004

The Bahraini attorney general announced the release of the 6 persons who were detained by the ministry of the interior on Wednesday after it was proved that there is no evidence proving their links to al-Qaida organization.

In an official statement, al-Bahrain's attorney general Sharif Shadi said that the attorney completed investigations with Yasser and Omar Kamal, Mohey Eddine and Ali Khan, Bassam al-Ali and Bassan Bu Khowa. He added that the judiciary found out "no evidences to convict them and therefore no accusations were addressed to them and it was decided to release them without guarantees."

The six Bahraini men were detained over suspicion of planning for what was described by the ministry as grave operations which would constitute grave danger on people and their properties.
