Obeid underlines the significance of al-Assad's visit to China

Lebanese Foreign Minister Jean Obeid on Thursday described President Bashar al-Assad' s visit to China as important due to the critical situations the region is passing through.

He pointed out to the economic, political and scientific capabilities of China, as well as the importance of explaining our causes to the great states, particularly following the global imbalance. In a press conference held in Tehran, Obeid stressed on the positive and important effects of the President's visit to Beijing.

Obeid warned against dangers of the Israeli nuclear arsenal in the region and the world, calling the great states to put an end to this arsenal and to force Israel to commit itself to the international resolutions.

Obeid reiterated the importance of enhancing and strengthening the Syrian-Lebanese relations, expressing appreciation over Syria's firm stance and support offered to the Lebanese national resistance.

He asserted that the alliance between the two fraternal countries participated in confirming security and stability in Lebanon and in the restoration of the Lebanese integrity as well as in achieving the national solidarity in it.
