After many of them were targeted, Saudi Arabia permits foreigners to carry weapons

The Saudi Arabian minister of the Interior prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz said that the Kingdom will permit foreigners who reside on its lands to carry weapons in order to protect themselves from the risks provoked by the wave of violence which targeted many of them.
According to the Saudi news agency, prince Nayef explained that the government's side will assume the protection of foreigners working in it while the foreigner working in the non- governmental sector will protect himself by an individual weapons like any Saudi citizen.
However, a western diplomat living in Saudi Arabia said he did not hear of any measure that permit foreigners to carry weapons. He added " I am afraid that with the existence of persons roaming with weapons, more accidents will take place."
