AL Chief confers with Indian Foreign Ministry delegation
Regional-India, Politics, 6/23/2004
Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Amr Moussa talked yesterday with a delegation from the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry on the latest developments in the Middle East including the Palestinian cause and the situation in Iraq.
The two sides also discussed the results of the Arab Summit recently held in Tunisia, the current situation in South Asia and the means of developing the Arab-Indian relations.
Moussa stressed to the Indian delegation the steadfastness of the Arab stance towards the Middle East and Iraq. He asserted that Arabs completely reject any Israeli attempt to solve the Palestinian question according to its vision which is based on US support, the AL statement added. It quoted Moussa as stressing the Arab states' interest in developing relations with India and other countries which respect the international community "to strengthen the Arab stance that back the Palestinian causes and to prevent Israel from persisting in its arrogance and denying the others' rights."
