Maher: Egypt ready to train Iraqi army, police personnel
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 6/19/2004

Egypt will not send forces to Iraq but is ready to train cadres and personnel of Iraqi army, police, state administrative body and diplomatic corps to help Iraqi people exercise full sovereignty in their country, Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said Friday.

In statements to the Egyptian TV, Maher said that Egypt wants to deal with the current Iraqi government to help create suitable conditions to bring about a swift withdrawal of foreign forces and entrench Iraq's sovereignty and unity.
