Al-Qaida announces the killing of the American hostage in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 6/19/2004

The kidnappers of the American hostage Paul Marshal Johnson yesterday evening fulfilled their threats and killed their hostage after the end of a grace period they gave to the Saudi Arabian authorities to release detainees from al-Qaida organization.

One of the Islamic websites on the Internet showed scenes for beheading the American hostage Johnson. A statement was issued bearing the signature of al-Qaida organization in the Arab Peninsula saying " in implementation of what was stated, al-Mujahidoun of al-Falluja group killed the American prisoner Paul Marshal after the end of the grace period set by the Mujahidoun for the Tyrants of the Saudi government."

In an earlier statement, the kidnappers gave the Saudi authorities a grace period of 72 hours to release their colleagues held in the Saudi detentions, but Riyadh refused to respond to their demands and stressed its does not negotiate with the " terrorists." Washington did the same like Riyadh and refused to deal with the kidnappers, despite repeated appeals from the relatives of the hostages and ordered its citizens not to travel to Saudi Arabia and the one existed there to leave it because of what it called the terrorist threats. The US said it still receives information indicating that what it described as extremists are planning to launch attacks against American and western interests.
