King Mohammed VI holds one-to-one talks with President Biya of Cameroon
Morocco-Cameroon, Politics, 6/18/2004
Morocco's King Mohammed VI, who is currently in the Yaounde, capital of Cameroon for a friendship and work visit, the third leg of his five-nation African tour, had one-to-one talks with president Paul Biya.
The Moroccan king had a lengthy meeting at the Unity Palace here with Biya, who decorated him with Cameroon's "Grand Croix de l'Ordre National de la Valeur," before offering an official banquet in his honor.
Morocco and Cameroon earlier agreed to reactivate their joint commission, which has never convened, at a meeting between members of the delegation accompanying the sovereign and Cameroon ministers.
The Moroccan delegation, including minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohammed Benaissa, minister of finance and privatization, Fathallah Oulaalou, minister of Habous (endowments) and Islamic affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, insisted on fast finalization of bilateral accords on investment protection and avoidance of double taxation.
The sovereign's tour already took him to Benin and Gabon. He will also fly to Niger and Senegal.
